About Sunbeams
Sunbeams is an engaging group piano and music program designed specifically for children ages 5–7. Through playful, age-appropriate activities, children develop a strong foundation in piano playing, music reading, rhythm, ear training, and musicianship.
Children explore the keyboard, learn to read music, develop their technique, and build confidence through singing, games, stories, rhythm activities, and hands-on learning. The program combines the fun and creativity of MYC with the skills children need to become confident young musicians.
Sunbeams is an ideal entry point for children ages 5–7, with no previous MYC experience required.
Class Details
60-minute weekly classes • September–June
Tuition: $1,020 for the 2026–2027 year
Payment: In full or 10 monthly payments of $102
Registration & Materials: $225, tax included
Lessons: 35 classes + year-end recital
Experience: No previous MYC experience required
Parent participation: Required

A $225 registration and materials fee is due at registration to reserve your child's place.
Tuition is $1,020 for the 2026–2027 year, payable either in full before the first class or in 10 monthly payments of $102, September through June.
Online registration requires a credit card and is subject to a 2.4% processing fee. If you prefer to pay by e-transfer, please contact us before registering and we'll be happy to arrange your registration and payment directly.

2026-2027 Class Schedule
Classes are expected to begin the week of September 13, 2026 and run through June 11, 2027
Choose Your Sunbeams Class
Tuesday • 6:45PM
Wednesday • 5:15PM
The program includes a two-week Christmas break and one-week March Break.
If Atelier Music Academy must cancel a class due to illness, emergency, or another unforeseen circumstance, a make-up class will be scheduled or the program will be extended as necessary.
Home Practice
Regular practice at home is an important part of the MYC program. Children should practice at least 5 days per week, with parent involvement.
For Sunbeams students, we recommend approximately 10-20 minutes of practice each day.
Students must have access to a suitable instrument at home for daily practice.
Instrument Requirements
Students need access to a keyboard with:

At least 61 full-size, touch-sensitive keys

Semi-weighted or fully weighted keys
An acoustic piano is also suitable, provided it is kept in tune.

Before You Register
Attendance
MYC is a curriculum-based, full-year program, and your child's place is held for the entire year.
If your child is sick, please do not attend class in person. When possible, an online viewing option or class recording may be provided so your child can follow along.
Missed classes are not refundable or rescheduled. If something important was missed or you have questions about the material, you are welcome to arrive 5 minutes early the following week for a brief recap.
Parent Participation
Active parent participation is an important part of the MYC program. Parents learn alongside their children and help support learning and practice at home.
