Hello! My name is Jeanne, and I'm a third-generation classical musician from the Netherlands. I've always been a performing violinist, playing in orchestras, bands, and theatre productions all over Europe for more than 30 years, including one memorable run of Fiddler on the Roof where I played the violin in a fake beard. I've played across nearly every style you can imagine. Symphonic, operatic, and oratorio "iron" repertoire, chamber music, musical theatre, jazz, pop, rock, and crossover. I'm also a very fast sight reader, and I speak enough languages to get by almost anywhere. Dutch, English, German, French, a bit of Norwegian, and I can even follow a conductor screaming at me in Italian or Russian.

I hold a Master's degree in Violin from the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam and the Conservatorium Utrecht, where I studied with Emmy Verhey, among others.

But performing is only half the story. I love to teach! For more than 15 years I've taught violin and viola to students from age 5 to 85, from complete beginners to advanced musicians, through private lessons, chamber music coaching, ensembles, and orchestra and audition preparation.

Now it's this generation's turn, and I want you to know just how much fun that can be. I want my students to discover that you can play the violin with your own voice, your own music, and in your own style. Because I know every style, and every trick in the book, to help you play the way you want, with the music you love, and to help you become the musician they want to be.
